I began my career in lending in 1977 with Wells Fargo. After I left the bank in 1984, I went in a completely different direction. I became an electro-mechanical draftsperson. Fascinating, but it didn’t pay well. In 1986 I got my real estate license and sold real estate in San Francisco for a little over 3 years.
In 1989, just before the big quake (the second one, that is), I was courted to come back into lending and signed on to join Real Estate Financial Services (now a branch of Guarantee Mortgage). I started with REFS in early 1990. I was the top producer at REFS for nearly all of my tenure with them, which spanned over 15 years. In 2005 I decided it was time to spread my wings and make a change, so I joined First Security Loan at their Sutter Street branch. Following the financial meltdown, First Security elected to close their operations in 2009. I joined Guarantee Mortgage in late 2009, and now have my own office–back at 1388 Sutter Street.
I am a member of the California Association of Mortgage Bankers. I do loans all over California. The transactions I do range from all types of residential loans to TIC’s, to equity lines, construction and commercial apartment building loans.
